Holland Hospital Expands Access to Convenient Care

Holland Hospital is expanding access to convenient coordinated care options to meet growing demand across the Lakeshore area. In the current environment with the COVID-19 virus, patient access to primary and immediate care options is even more important to ensure our community stays healthy and safe.

“Our community has experienced a primary care provider shortage,” said Patti VanDort, chief nursing officer and senior vice president. “A 10-month or longer wait to see a primary care provider for an annual physical is unacceptable. Health care consumers expect a range of accessible, convenient, high-quality and affordable options. We are excited to provide more choices for patients in our community.”

Holland Hospital Medical Group (Lakeshore Health Partners) has added eight primary care providers to its team in 2020 and will open a new Internal Medicine primary care office location later this year. In addition, convenient Virtual Visit appointments are now available at all Holland Hospital Medical Group offices so patients can access expert care without leaving the comfort of home.

“We are fortunate to be able to attract top-notch providers to Holland,” Michelle Doctor, vice president, Holland Hospital Medical Group, said. “Our culture closely aligns with the qualities and attributes providers are seeking when considering where to raise a family and practice medicine.”

Walk-In Care will be added to the range of services offered at the Holland Hospital Medical Building in Zeeland. Walk-in Care will be available to everyone regardless of who your primary care provider is or if you have one. Patient portal enhancements will add more to ensure a full complement of convenient care options.

“Your primary care office serves as your Patient Centered Medical Home or health care hub providing personalized, whole-person care,” Doctor said. “Preventive and coordinated care options help patients avoid emergency room visits and reduce hospital stays. This results in higher quality care with better outcomes and lower cost.”

As services expand at the Holland Hospital Medical Building in Zeeland, Urgent Care will relocate to join with Urgent Care at the Lakeshore Medical Campus in Holland. This will help serve increased demand at that location and ensure reduced wait times with a convenient online reservation system.

New services and expanded offerings are expected to roll out this summer and fall.
