Gifts to Annual Lights of Love Campaign Light the Lives of Patients

Holland Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary invites the community to participate in the 30th annual Lights of Love Campaign, a festive and meaningful way to honor or remember a loved one as well as benefit patients through the proceeds. Each year, the campaign funds special projects that directly impact the care and comfort of patients.

This year, the Auxiliary is raising money for two departments.

The Boven Birth Center to receive Newborn Halo Sleep Sacks for our littlest patients. These special sleep sacks will be given to the parents of each newborn. Sleep sacks promote safe sleeping practices while keeping infants warm.

The campaign proceeds will also benefit Inpatient Behavioral Health patients with the purchase of Nu-Step exercise equipment. Exercise is an often underutilized treatment for depression. This equipment will support patient's overall healing.

For 30 years, the Hospital’s Volunteer Auxiliary has conducted the Light of Love campaign, securing hundreds of thousands of dollars for patient-centered projects. Items that have been purchased in past years include the Lucas Chest Compression System, synchronized clocks for the Boven Birth Center, AccuVein digital vein display device, rocking chairs for pediatric patients, furnishings for hospice rooms,

magnetic infant gowns for the special care nursery, blanket warmers, recliners and more. Gifts like these keep giving throughout the years.

"The Auxiliary continues to be amazed by the generosity of our community throughout the years. Without the support of individuals, we could not support patients in this way. We are very thankful for this very special community that continues to give to those in need." states Joan Maes, Committee Chair.

The campaign runs through December and ends January 9, 2017. To make a donation online visit hollandhospital.org and click ‘Donate’ at the top of the page. Envelopes and drop boxes are also located at each entrance of the hospital.
