Holland Hospital’s Joint Replacement Center has been deemed a Destination Center of Superior Performance by the health care firm Marshall Steele and Associates.

The Center underwent a two-day assessment by Marshall | Steele representatives in September which included interviews with key stakeholders as well as an evaluation of patient outcomes.  Based on the results of the evaluation, the Joint Replacement Center was awarded the Destination Center of Superior Performance designation.

The Joint Replacement Center performs hundreds of joint replacements each year, working in collaboration with national joint care experts and area orthopedic specialists.   Patient outcome statistics from three months after surgery show:
  • 90% report mild or no pain standing vs. 81% national average
  • 97% report mild or no difficulty walking vs. 84% national average
Holland Hospital partnered with Marshall Steele and Associates in 2010 to help facilitate the development of the hospital’s joint replacement program into a Destination Center.  Marshall Steele is a physician-led healthcare services firm focused on transforming traditional hospital service lines into Destination Centers of Superior Performance.
