Hospital Employee Campaign Raises Record Amount

HOLLAND – Oct. 10, 2011 - Holland Hospital employees have set a new record for giving to the annual employee campaign.  This year’s campaign raised $70,080.16, an increase of more than 9% over last year.

“We are thrilled with the result of our internal campaign,” says Colleen Perdok, Holland Hospital Fund Development Coordinator.  “All of the funds raised will help us continue to support our School Nursing program for 600 children at Jefferson School in Holland.”

According to Perdok, the Hospital’s school nurse program at Jefferson School provided care to 98% of the students last year, including 1,316 first aid visits; 2,333 health/illness visits; 3,672 medications administered; and 1,420 parent contacts.  On average, the school nurses saw 51 student visits per day with the majority of students (85%) returning to their classroom rather than being sent home unnecessarily.

“We are making a difference in the lives of the students at Jefferson School, as well as the other schools where our nurses are present,” says Perdok.  “We thank our employees who gave this year in support of this vital community service.”
