Holland Hospital Receives Two National Quality Awards

Mon, Feb 29, 2016

Holland Hospital is being honored by two national quality monitoring organizations.

For the second year in a row, Holland Hospital has received the America’s 50 Best Hospital Award from Healthgrades. The award is reserved for hospitals that provide overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of conditions and procedures consistently for at least six consecutive years. This year, Holland Hospital is ranked by Healthgrades as the highest performing hospital in Michigan and the 7th highest nationwide.

“We are pleased to recognize those organizations that have achieved this distinction and urge all consumers to do their homework when selecting a hospital – especially as it relates to emergent conditions – since hospitals do not perform equally,” said Evan Marks, Chief Strategy Officer, Healthgrades.

In addition to Healthgrade’s award, Holland Hospital earned a place on Truven’s Top 100 Hospitals list for an 11th consecutive year. The 100 Top Hospitals award is based on performance across more than a dozen measures, including mortality, complications, length of stay, readmissions, financial performance, patient satisfaction and spending per beneficiary.

“This outstanding performance reflects an organization-wide commitment to quality.” says Mark Pawlak, Senior Vice President, Quality, IS & Hospital Operations “Receiving Truven’s 100 Top Hospitals award for our efforts to achieve and maintain this level of quality care is an honor. Being recognized as the best in the state by Healthgrades is a remarkable accomplishment that helps validate the exceptional work of all our medical staff, employees and volunteers.”
