Holland Hospital has received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR ACTION Registry–GWTG Gold Performance Achievement Award for 2016 and is one of only 36 hospitals nation-wide to be awarded this honor. It is the eighth consecutive year Holland Hospital has achieved this award.

The Performance Award recognizes hospitals across the nation that have implemented a higher standard of care for heart attack patients as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.

“We are extremely honored not only to receive this recognition but also to deliver this high quality of care to our community," states Todd Knight, MSN, RN, CVRN, Director of Invasive/Interventional Procedures. "It is through the dedication and teamwork of our staff each day that we've achieved this level of success eight years in a row.”

ACTION Registry–GWTG is a partnership between the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association with partnering support from the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. ACTION Registry-GWTG empowers health care provider teams to consistently treat heart attack patients according to the most current, science-based guidelines and establishes a national standard for understanding and improving the quality, safety and outcomes of care provided for patients with coronary artery disease, specifically high-risk heart attack patients.
