In separate award announcements, two national health care evaluative organizations have placed Holland Hospital in their top 100 hospital national rankings.
For a second consecutive year, Healthgrades selected Holland Hospital as one of America’s 100 BestTM Hospitals after evaluating the clinical performances of nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Independently, Truven Health AnalyticsTM chose Holland Hospital as the only hospital in West Michigan, and one of only three in the state, to receive its 100 Top Hospitals award, the ninth consecutive year the hospital has achieved this recognition.

Healthgrades bases its findings on Medicare inpatient data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. No hospital can opt-in or opt-out of being evaluated, and no hospital pays to be evaluated. “This distinction provides consumers with a measure of confidence that Holland Hospital has delivered better than expected outcomes across a broad spectrum of conditions and procedures over an extended period of time,” said Evan Marks, EVP Informatics and Strategy Director at Healthgrades.
Truven Health Analytics’TM winners are based on a national ‘scorecard’ which objectively measures the performances of 2,800 hospitals across 10 areas – from patient safety, satisfaction and adherence to clinical standards of care to cost-efficiency and financial stability. “Our objective and independent measurement shows that these winning hospitals have found ways to achieve excellent patient outcomes while maintaining financial performance,” said Mike Boswood, President and CEO of Truven Health.
Holland Hospital serves the health care needs of the greater Holland area and surrounding communities in Ottawa and Allegan counties with a 189-bed main campus and numerous off-site locations.
