Mon, Mar 28, 2011

HOLLAND – March 28, 2011 - Thomson Reuters, a national industry leader in healthcare data, today announced its 2011 Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals award winners. For a sixth consecutive year, Holland Hospital has been named to the list, and is the only Michigan hospital listed this year in the medium size community hospital category.

“Holland Hospital staff and physicians strive for excellence to deliver the very best care to each and every patient we serve, and our designation as a Top 100 Hospital is a powerful validation of those efforts,” said Mark Pawlak, Holland Hospital Vice President of Ancillary Services and Quality. “Achieving this level of recognition, and staying on this list for six consecutive years, requires a hospital to consistently outperform others on a broad range of meaningful health care metrics.  Our community can be both proud and assured that world class health care is provided here at Holland Hospital.”

For the past 18 years, Thomson Reuters has used objective research and independent public data to evaluate performance within relevant comparison groups, and guide hospitals and health systems to reach for excellence. Identified from nearly 3,000 U.S. hospitals, the 100 Top Hospital facilities demonstrate that high-quality patient outcomes can be achieved while improving efficiency. Hospitals do not apply and winners to do not pay to market their award.
