Cardiac Care Program Receives Gold Performance Achievement Award

For the second straight year, Holland Hospital’s cardiology program has been awarded the Gold Performance Achievement Award by the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) and American College of Cardiology Foundation.  Only 167 hospitals nationwide received the Gold Performance Achievement Award for 2011. >“The American College of Cardiology Foundation and the American Heart Association commend Holland Hospital for its success in implementing standards of care and protocols,” said Gregg C. Fonarow, MD, FACC, FAHA, ACTION Registry-GWTG Steering Committee Chair.  “The full implementation of acute and secondary prevention guideline-recommended therapy is a critical step in saving the lives and improving outcomes of heart attack patients.” Holland Hospital consistently followed the treatment guidelines in ACTION Registry®-GWTGTM for eight consecutive quarters and met a performance standard of 85% for specific performance measures to receive this 2011 award.  “Holland Hospital continues to practice evidence based standards that ultimately contribute to optimal outcomes of a very robust cardiology program in our community,” said Todd Knight, Director of the Cardiovascular Laboratory.  “This recognition at a national level confirms that these patients are receiving care as it is intended, to be the best possible.
