GERD
Nearly 20% of the US population suffers from acid reflux, medically known as GERD, or gastroesophageal reflux disease. GERD causes stomach acid to back up in the esophagus, resulting in regurgitation, coughing and chest pain. If left untreated, GERD can also cause more serious conditions that may lead to esophageal cancer.
