Holland Hospital Recognized for Excellent Patient Experience

Two organizations are recognizing Holland Hospital for exceptional patient experience - The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) as well as Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.

Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award 2018For the 10th year in a row, Holland Hospital has received Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ as one of the top 15% of hospitals in the nation for overall patient experience. The award recognizes hospitals that provide an exceptional patient experience as reported by patients themselves on a range of topics such as noise levels, pain management, responsiveness to their needs, and whether they would recommend the hospital to friends or family.

“There’s no greater honor than an award that is a direct result of patients rating our service. All our hospital team members contribute to the patient’s experience. Whether they’re greeting and registering the patient, cleaning rooms, delivering meals, escorting patients, or providing treatment – every staff member and volunteer makes a difference,” said Patti VanDort, Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations & CNO.

The CMS star rating scores hospitals on patient experience using a one-to-five-star scale based on the 11 publicly reported measures in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. Among the more than 4000 hospitals across the nation, Holland Hospital is one of just 213 hospitals receiving a five-star rating in the most recent period.
