HOLLAND, Mich., Jan. 27, 2026 — As demand for skilled health care professionals continues to rise, Holland Hospital is once again inviting local high school and college students to apply for its annual health care scholarship programs, continuing a long-standing commitment to supporting the next generation of medical professionals. These scholarships provide financial assistance to students pursuing careers across a variety of health-care related fields.
For 18 years, the Holland Hospital Volunteer Council Health Care Scholarship has awarded more than $195,000 to local students. Funded through proceeds from the Gift Shop, Coffee Cove, and Volunteer Council fundraising events, the scholarship provides meaningful financial support to individuals preparing for careers in health care.
“Our scholarship programs are a testament to Holland Hospital’s long-standing commitment to developing tomorrow’s health care workforce,” said Megan Kniaz, Lead Volunteer Coordinator at Holland Hospital. “We look forward to seeing how these promising students will shape the future of care.”
Eligible applicants for the Volunteer Council Scholarship must be enrolled in an accredited health care program and must be within 12 months of graduation from an associate's or master's program, 18 months from a bachelor's program, and 24 months from a doctorate program.
The Holland Hospital RN Scholarship Program also continues its long tradition of supporting future nurses. Over the past two decades, the program has awarded more than $200,000 to high school seniors pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
“Supporting students on their path to becoming nurses is an investment in the health of our entire community,” said Erin LaDuke, RN Nurse Recruiter at Holland Hospital. “Our scholarship program helps ensure they have the resources needed to succeed and ultimately provide exceptional care to those who depend on them.”
Each year, the RN Scholarship Program awards $7,000 to selected recipients, distributed over four years to assist with tuition, fees, and living expenses. High school seniors residing within the Holland Hospital service area who plan to enroll in a four-year BSN program in fall 2026 are encouraged to apply.
Holland Hospital remains committed to supporting the educational aspirations of future health care professionals and strengthening the local workforce. For complete eligibility criteria and application details, please visit:
