Volunteer Auxiliary Health Care Scholarships

Holland Hospital is proud to nurture the next generation of medical professionals and caregivers.

For nine years and counting, the Holland Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary has awarded scholarships to qualified students wishing to continue their education in the field of health care.

The Volunteer Auxiliary Scholarship is available to undergraduate college juniors and seniors, as well as advance degree candidates within 18 months of graduation who have permanent residence in the greater Holland and Zeeland area. Applicants can attend colleges outside of the greater Holland/Zeeland area and still be eligible as long as their permanent residence is in one of the zip codes listed below. Some examples of health care career options include social work, lab technology, nursing, dentistry, radiology, pre-med and physical or occupational therapy.

Application Checklist

  • The application which is available to download from this page starting mid-December.
  • An official college transcript. You can get instructions how to obtain an official transcript from the registrar's office.
  • Three letters of reference. One reference should be from a current instructor in the student's major field.  The other two references can be of your choosing.
  • A letter/essay telling the scholarship committee about yourself, your background, interests, volunteer experience and the contribution you hope to make to the medical field.
