Holland Hospital is pleased to announce the reopening of additional services while continuing to ensure the health and safety of all patients and staff. Beginning in May, capacity will be expanded for surgical and endoscopy procedures at the hospital as well as at the outpatient surgical center. Patients can be reassured that the hospital is following all required procedures and best practices for infection control, patient safety and use of PPE as well as all local, state and federal guidelines.
Surgeries to Resume
Beginning in May, hospital services that were temporarily suspended during the outbreak will gradually reopen including surgeries and endoscopic procedures which will resume on May 4. Patients who had previously scheduled surgeries that were postponed will be contacted directly by their provider. Decisions to reschedule surgeries or procedures will be at the discretion of the surgeon and the patient.
“As always, the safety of our patients is our highest priority,” said Dr. Susan Ervine, Chief of Staff at Holland Hospital. “The decision to expand surgeries is based on our ability to safely care for each patient and protect our staff with high quality personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures as well as our ability to respond to a health crisis if needed.”
All staff and patients/visitors will be screened upon entrance for temperature, known exposure and symptoms and provided the proper PPE. Staff and patients/visitors will wear masks and adhere to social distancing while onsite. Visitor restrictions are still in place and will be followed.
