Security Alerts and Lockdowns

Stay Calm

Maintain composure and reassure patients and visitors that the situation is being handled by the appropriate authorities, with the safety and security of all personnel at the forefront of their minds. Reference scripting examples.

Stay Put

Movement throughout the facility is expected to be limited to only that which is essential to patient care.

Stay Tuned

Watch for updates and follow instructions. Routine calls or requests to Security and the affected department should be delayed until the 'All Clear' is announced.

Stay Safe

Be aware of your surroundings, do not let anyone into the facility who does not have a hospital-issued badge prominently displayed and if you see something, say something.  Suspicious activity could be related to the situation at hand and should be reported quickly to Security or department leadership.
