The new facility includes primary care, lab, radiology and mammography in downtown Hudsonville to provide quality care, close to home for patients

HOLLAND, Mich., Jan. 2, 2025 — Offering dedicated primary care providers, same-day appointments, walk-in lab and X-ray services and comfortable in-office mammography appointments, Holland Hospital is celebrating the grand opening of Holland Hospital Primary Care — Hudsonville with a community open house and tour from 1-3 p.m. on Thurs., Jan. 9, 2025.

Holland Hospital, already a significant health care provider for Hudsonville residents, is proudly expanding its services to better serve the community. Ottawa County led Michigan's ten largest counties in growth, expanding by 2.18% since 2020, according to recent data. Hudsonville consistently ranks among the top three fastest-growing communities within the county, as its population grows by 1% annually, now totaling nearly 8,000 residents.

“Recognizing the growing needs of Hudsonville residents, Holland Hospital is pleased to expand its services within this community, offering residents convenient access to primary care and advanced diagnostic services,” said Michael Pawlak, vice president of regional development at Holland Hospital. “Holland Hospital is proud to continue its commitment to helping ensure access to top-quality care for this growing community.”

Michigan is facing a significant shortage of primary care providers (PCPs). According to the Graham Center for Policy Studies, the state is projected to need an additional 862 PCPs by 2030 to meet the growing demand for primary care services. The opening of this new office is a critical step in addressing this gap and ensuring that Hudsonville residents have access to quality health care, while also reducing appointment wait times.

Located in downtown Hudsonville, the 6,500-square-foot office features:

  • 11 exam rooms plus one procedure room
  • Consultation space for care managers, diabetes educators, and behavioral health specialists
  • Mammography, offering the latest stand-alone breast care screening technology
  • Ultrasound by appointment
  • Walk-in lab and X-ray

The experienced team of primary care providers includes Mary Mier, DO, Jennifer Bienz, PA, and Lauren Douma, PA, all accepting new patients. Holland Hospital Primary Care — Hudsonville offers comprehensive primary care services for all ages, including well-child visits, annual physicals and health screenings, immunizations, the treatment of skin conditions plus allergies and asthma, and the management of chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease, and wellness education.

Holland Hospital has served West Michigan for over 100 years with facilities in Holland, Zeeland, Grand Haven, Saugatuck/Douglas and South Haven. This new facility is a testament to the hospital’s continuous mission of providing convenient local access to high-quality health care for communities throughout the lakeshore region.

In addition to its reach across the lakeshore communities, the hospital continues delivering exceptional health care, extending its long history of service. Holland Hospital has a proven track record by maintaining the highest 5-star Quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services every year and ranking in the top 5% in the nation for Outstanding Patient Experience for 16 years in a row.
