Meet the Presenters:

Tyler Murphy, MD—Naturally You: Explore "lifestyle medicine" and natural, chemical-free healing options.

  • Tyler Murphy, MD

    Dr. Tyler Murphy is a fellowship trained internal medicine physician with expertise in lifestyle medicine. His passion for lifestyle medicine has motivated him to develop a new Lifestyle Medicine program at Holland Hospital's Center for Good Health. The program's goal is to help patients achieve health and wellness by optimizing nutrition, fitness, sleep, mindfulness, and reduction of harmful chemical exposure. The program being developed now will plan to launch in early 2018. Dr. Murphy is married and has two children. He enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and is an avid cross country skier and cyclist.

Kylene Krause, Ph.D, and Karen Ledford, LMSW, CAADC—Mindfully You: Learn the power of positivity and stress relief.

  • Kylene Krause, Ph.D

    Dr. Kylene Krause is a fully licensed psychologist serving patients and their families at Holland Hospital Outpatient Behavioral Health Services. She works with both children and adults on a variety of mental health issues and life adjustment difficulties. Dr. Krause is married and has a 2-year-old daughter and I-year-old son. She enjoys reading, exercising, spending time outside, visiting with friends and playing with her family.

  • Karen Ledford, LMSW, CAADC

    Karen Ledford is a clinical social worker and certified advanced addictions counselor. She has a special interest in the practice of Mindfulness and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), including teaching DBT and mindfulness skills due to their effectiveness in helping people cope with life stressors. Karen is married, a mother and a grandmother who highly values her faith and her family.

  • Barb DePree, MD

    Dr. Barb DePree is a well-known woman’s health expert and author of Yes You Can: Dr. Barb's Recipe for Lifelong Intimacy sought out by women from across the state and beyond. In 2013, she was recognized as North American Menopause Society’s Practitioner of the Year for her exceptional contributions and expertise in treating the unique health care needs of midlife women. Specializing in menopausal medicine, hormone replacement and sexual health therapy, Dr. Barb has comfortably answered all the uncomfortable questions of midlife and the changes that occur as we age. After completing her Master's in Medical Management in 2006, she launched MiddlesexMD.com, an online resource providing additional advice and products for patients.

  • Laurie Birkholz, MD

    Dr. Laurie Birkholz is a women's health expert with a special interest in holistic health. She helps her patients focus on all aspects of health—mind, body and spirit—and their roles in continuing good health or returning to previous levels of health. From sexual health and cancer survivorship to nutrition and fitness counseling, Dr. Laurie helps women of all ages make their life a great life! When Dr. Birkholz isn’t providing primary and specialty women’s health care at Lakeshore Health Partners, she enjoys the hiking trails and beaches in our community with her husband, Eric, and their two daughters.
