Holland Hospital Expands Commitment to the Holland Community Health Center

Holland Hospital announced today that it is expanding its commitment to the Holland Community Health Center to continue to care for the underserved along the lakeshore.

On April 4, 2022, Holland Hospital assumed full operational responsibility for the Holland Community Health Center.

The Holland Community Health Center cares for patients of all ages and offers essential services for a wide variety of health care needs at little to no cost to patients.  These services include routine primary care, behavioral health care, preventative care, obstetrics, well woman/men visits, children’s health needs, vaccines and more. The health center has a full staff that can accommodate many needs including physicians who are Spanish-speaking.

“We are honored to support these important medical care services to those who are most in need,” said Michelle Doctor, vice president of Holland Hospital Medical Group. “This center is part of our ongoing commitment and partnership with physicians to expand access to care and improve the health of our community.”

In partnership with outside health care systems, Holland Hospital has been serving the uninsured and underinsured at the center for more than 25 years. The practice was created in 1995 by a small group of Holland Hospital emergency department medical staff. In 2004, MMPC partnered with Holland Hospital to operate the center and provide a broader range of services. Spectrum Health purchased MMPC in 2009 and maintained practice operations until now.

The Holland Community Health Center is accepting news patients. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (616) 394-3788. The Holland Community Health center is located at 336 S River Ave Holland, MI 49423.
