Are you at high risk for breast cancer? For some women, receiving an annual screening mammogram isn’t enough. Our goal is to help identify women who are at an increased risk and reduce the risk for developing breast cancer or diagnose it in its earliest stages, when it’s most treatable.
At your screening mammogram appointment, we can evaluate if you are at an increased risk. If you fall into this category, we will encourage you to discuss your risk with your primary care provider. You can also schedule an appointment at the Holland Hospital High Risk Breast Clinic. This clinic is designed to calculate a woman’s lifetime risk of developing breast cancer, provide a referral for genetic testing (if appropriate), tailor an individualized prevention plan, and recommend an appropriate screening and follow-up schedule.
