DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) Informed Groups

DBT Skills Group

Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) teaches patients how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate emotions, and improve relationships with others. Participants are required to work with an individual therapist one-on-one while they participate in the group.

DBT Graduate Group

After going through the DBT Skills Group you may choose to join the DBT Graduate Group where participants support one another in using the skills they’ve learned to improve their lives and help lead mindfulness activities.  A therapist is present to serve as a coach to the group.

Substance Use Treatment Groups

IOP (Intensive Outpatient) Group for Substance Use

This group is designed to help adults of all ages overcome problematic substance use and enjoy happier, healthier, and more productive lives. It is specifically designed for those who need more frequent, consistent care than outpatient therapy and combines education and group therapy to help understand factors that contribute to problematic substance use and how to address them.

SUD (Substance Use Disorder) Group

This group is for those who have completed the IOP Group and would like to continue to getting support in maintaining their sobriety, or for those who need less intensive support than the IOP Group offers. The group will focus on navigating difficulties in continuing with the positive changes they’ve made and supporting one another in maintaining sobriety and rebuilding a happy, healthy life without substances.

Summer Child & Adolescent Groups

Social Skills Group

This group is designed to help children who struggle socially improve interactions with peers by addressing skills such as greeting others, listening, joint attention, turn-taking, sharing, conflict management, personal space, and making choices. The group provides a supportive and relaxed environment to practice skills with their peers while being coached by a psychologist and social worker.

Mindfulness and Stress Reduction Group for Middle School

This group will be focusing on ways to reduce stress by teaching different mindfulness practices and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills. Group members will learn to engage using all their senses as they explore how mindfulness can be used to improve mood, decrease depression and anxiety symptoms, and decrease feelings of being overwhelmed.

Teen DBT Informed Skills Group

This group will be teaching basic dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills to help teens be more mindful, tolerate distress, regulate their emotions better and be more effective in their communication. Teens will actively learn skills in a fun and supportive setting.

Lifestyle Medicine Group

This group uses therapeutic lifestyle changes as a way to improve both physical and mental health and possibly prevent poor health outcomes in the future. Participants are expected to be ready to explore potential lifestyle changes, motivated to try new things, and supportive of others as they also explore and try new things.
