Holland Hospital continues to be among the nation’s highest-rated hospitals and a leader in the West Michigan region. The hospital has recently been recognized for superior outcomes and exceptional patient experience by both The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Healthgrades, a leading source for information on hospital performance.
CMS compares hospitals across the nation on overall quality using a one-to-five-star scale based on a key quality measures as reported at CMS Hospital Compare. Holland Hospital is the only hospital to receive the top five-star rating in the West Michigan region and one of just 14% of hospitals nationwide to earn five stars in 2022.
Holland Hospital has been recognized by Healthgrades as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Surgical Care. Healthgrades evaluates over 4,500 hospitals based on clinical outcomes across a wide range of procedures and conditions. Holland Hospital is the only hospital in Michigan to earn this award and is also ranked #1 in Michigan for Joint Replacement and among America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement. Patients treated at hospitals receiving the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement award have, on average, 64.9% lower risk of experiencing a complication than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.
For the 14th year in a row, Holland Hospital also received Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ as one of the top 5% of hospitals in the nation and just one of three hospitals in the state to consistently reach this milestone.
