Emergency Services

A life-threatening condition—whether it’s a heart attack, stroke or a traumatic injury—requires rapid, appropriate care. If you or someone else is experiencing an emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately—do not attempt to drive to the hospital.

Holland Hospital’s Emergency Room offers the lakeshore access to 34 private exam rooms and six mental health rooms, including specially equipped trauma rooms, 15 board-certified emergency physicians, and a skilled nursing team trained in cardiac, trauma, stroke and emergency medicine. What’s more, a wide range of sub-specialty consultative services are also available around the clock.

With nearly 41,000 visits every year, we deliver 24/7 emergency care you and your family can trust. Holland Hospital has earned the top 5-Star Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services—making us one of a select number of hospitals across the nation recognized for superior patient care.

Level III Trauma Designation

Holland Hospital is one of a select number of Level III Trauma Centers in the state. Studies have shown that trauma patients treated in trauma centers have a 25 percent overall lower risk of death. Being designated as a Level III Trauma Center means we have the necessary resources and staff to offer expert, high quality care to critically ill or injured patients.

ED Mental Health Exam Rooms

Holland Hospital’s Emergency Department Mental Health Exam Rooms help to meet the growing need for mental health care in our community. The unit features six customized exam rooms for evaluating and monitoring the mental health status of patients coming in through the Emergency Department. The dedicated space offers enhanced safety measures for patients, staff and visitors, and allows staff to care for individuals in a more therapeutic environment.
