The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) initial certification course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements. Course includes infant and child CPR and AED use, management of respiratory emergencies, rhythm disturbances and electrical therapy, vascular access, resuscitation team concepts, cardiac, respiratory and shock case discussions and simulations, and the systematic approach to pediatric assessment. A full BLS recertification course is scheduled along with the PALS course. Two-year certification cards for BLS and PALS will be issued upon successful completion of the course. Approximate length of two day certification course is thirteen (13) hours.
