Annual Employee Campaign Generates Record Amount of Donations

HOLLAND – Holland Hospital’s annual internal employee campaign has raised a record amount of contributions, thanks in large part to a 2:1 contribution match offered by a local anonymous donor. The benefactor, who gave a grant of $350,000 to the Holland Hospital Foundation earlier this year, challenged hospital employees to show their support for programs serving those in the community most likely to be in need, specifically the Community Health Center and School Nursing.

Thanks to the leverage of the matched gifts, a total of $104,200 from hospital staff will be designated to benefit both of these programs. “Participation in employee giving was significantly increased this year,” says Todd Jacobs, director of the Hospital’s foundation. “We saw an overall giving increase of 68% over last year. Thanks to the success of this campaign we are happy to report a total community benefit of $106,876, almost all of which will be directed to the Community Health Center and School Nursing.”

According to Jacobs, the Community Health Center will add an additional treatment room, allowing medical staff to attend another 2,500 patient visits per year, and contributions to School Nursing will help expand the program to an additional elementary school and nearly 500 more children.

Holland Hospital’s School Nursing program, currently operating in six local elementary schools, provides in-school care for more than 1900 children, assisting those who are in need or at risk and connecting families with community resources. The Community Health Center on River Avenue in Holland provides primary care for residents who may otherwise not have access to quality health care, last year serving 2800 individuals and immunizing 580 children.
