Volunteers are the heartbeat of Holland Hospital! Our committed volunteers come from all over the Lakeshore community and make an important difference in the lives of patients and families by giving comfort and assistance; they are a vital and valuable part of our culture and patient-focused service.
Over 650 strong, our volunteers donate more than 60,000 hours of service in nearly 50 different areas. Whether it is volunteering for home meal deliveries, working in the Coffee Cove or Gift Shop, assisting in the medical or consumer library, or bringing newspapers and other niceties to our patients, our volunteers touch the hearts of many patients and staff.
The Volunteer Auxiliary is also very active throughout the year hosting fund-raisers such as book sales, jewelry sales, selling Koeze Nuts during the holidays, etc.
Many teens also volunteer to meet school requirements or to learn about health care careers. Students must be at least 14 years of age to volunteer.
