Holland Hospital's Special Care Nursery team is made up of highly skilled pediatric hospitalist physicians and neonatal nurses and nurse practitioners who provide supportive and developmental care for your newborn 24 hours a day. Our partnership with Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital provides access to more than 100 additional pediatric specialists whenever they are needed.

Pediatric Hospitalists
Pediatric hospitalists are pediatricians who work full-time in the hospital providing specialized care for newborns. Our highly-trained team includes board-certified pediatric physicians and nurse practitioners. These professionals have extensive training in the management of common and complex neonatal and pediatric illnesses. Together, they provide dedicated, expert care, day and night, for infants in the Special Care Nursery.
Nurses Specializing in Neonatal Care
A nurse with experience with neonatal care will offer support and give care. They will continually assess and monitor your baby's changing needs and help develop a plan of care along with the physician. They will help you learn how to care for your infant and make your transition home as smooth and easy as possible.
Parent Advocates
By joining the Boven Birth Center family, you have access to Parent Advocates, a dedicated team who provide information and support as your begin the most important role of your life—parent. Parent advocates will arm you with the parenting know-how and connections to resources you need to nurture your baby during the first months of life.
Home Health Professionals
Home Health Services offers a full range of services and clinical specialties to meet short or long-term medical needs in the comfort of your home. Specialists work closely with your hospital team to ensure continuity of care and quality service. Services are accredited by CHAPS (Community Health Accreditation Program), which recognizes our agency for exceeding the quality standards of home care. This is one of the best assurances that new parents referred to Home Health Services receive the highest quality of care.
