Cardiac Rehabilitation consists of three phases:
Phase I Inpatient
This phase begins during your hospital stay and provides education about the heart and good health habits. Low intensity exercise begins at this time.
Phase II Outpatient:
A program of education, exercise and positive support generally lasting eight to twelve weeks. The health care team helps you set realistic goals and take an active role in your recovery and rehabilitation. Exercise sessions meet three times per week and include continuous
supervision and heart monitoring. Staff also provides guidance for dietary and stress management modifications.
Phase III Ongoing:
Regular exercise supervision and support for continued lifestyle changes. You may choose to participate in this phase on a continuing basis.
