Surgical Services
Holland Hospital surgical teams perform a full range of inpatient and outpatient procedures. The area’s most skilled surgeons work closely with our experienced and caring staff to deliver the very best in surgical care. From minimally invasive surgical treatments to complex neurosurgery cases, your personal care and safety are our top priorities.
Hospital staff members from multiple areas coordinate their activities to ensure you receive superior surgical care — before, during and after actual surgery. Different areas of service include Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Same Day Surgery (SAS), Intra-Op, and the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Types of Surgery
General Surgery addresses almost any area of the body, including head, neck, breast, abdomen, arms and legs, as well as internal systems such as gastrointestinal, vascular and endocrine systems. Common surgical procedures include appendectomy, breast biopsy, Cesarean section, cholecystectomy (gall bladder surgery) and others.
General surgeons are also trained to conduct diagnostic tests such as endoscopies and other internal examinations. These surgeons routinely work with and refer patients to various surgical specialists in our Surgical Services department. These may include specialists in Orthopedic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Neurosurgery among others.
