September is Alcohol & Substance Abuse Recovery Month

Join us at RecoveryFest on September 18, 2010!

In difficult economic times, people experience increased stress
due to uncertainty and change in their personal, professional
and financial situations. However, the ability to deal with stress
in a positive and productive way will always be a part of life.
The Behavioral Health team can help each person develop an understanding of their concerns and discover ways to succeed
with specially designed programs that treat the whole person – mind, body and spirit.

Behavioral Health Services offers free confidential screening for both stress and substance abuse throughout the year. Screenings are available to the public on a walk-in basis (no appointment necessary) between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm at the outpatient offices at 854 S. Washington, Suite 330.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment

Addiction can become a chronic, life-threatening condition. However, with proper treatment and ongoing support, it can be successfully controlled. Holland Hospital Behavioral Health offers a variety of services to help achieve and maintain total abstinence from all addictive substances — and prevent relapse.

Working together, we can help you:

- Gain sobriety from addictive substances.

- Explore issues contributing to substance abuse.

- Find positive ways to cope with emotional and
  physical pain.

- Learn relapse prevention skills.

- Make lifestyle changes to support recovery.

Skilled, Caring Experts

Our treatment team includes therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, medical social workers and other professionals with experience in treating alcohol and substance abuse. We have a certified MD addictionologist on staff — a psychiatrist specializing in addiction treatment and medicine.

The Behavioral Health Services staff will help you (or someone you care about) develop an understanding of the substance abuse problem and help you discover ways to succeed with a variety of treatment techniques. We offer specially designed programs for adolescents, adults and seniors — all with a compassionate, holistic approach to treat the “whole” person.

Treatment Approach

Substance abuse treatment begins with an assessment of personal needs and developing a successful plan of care. This plan may include individual, group and family therapy depending on specific concerns. A variety of treatment approaches may be used which include physical, emotional, and spiritual components — such as the AA 12-step format. The length of care may range from a few days to several weeks of outpatient treatment based on individual needs.
