Holland Hospital offers the latest in Interventional Radiology care to Lakeshore residents.

International Radiology procedures offer Holland Hospital patients an alternative to some surgical procedures, with the benefits of smaller incisions, less pain and faster recovery times.

Interventional Radiologists (IR) specialists use highly advanced digital imaging technology and minimally invasive procedures to treat disease and injury. In many cases Interventional Radiology can replace more invasive procedures, minimizes risk, and involves less pain and recovery time than conventional surgery.

Interventional Radiology utilizes the most advanced technology available to perform image-guided procedures to treat a wide variety of diseases throughout the body. State-of-the-art imaging techniques including fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT scans) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are utilized to guide the placement of needles, catheters and devices directly to target sites deep within the body through a small skin incision. These procedures are often performed under local anesthesia with intravenous (IV) sedation and typically do not require general anesthesia.
