Gastroenterologists
Physicians practicing in the field of diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract, which includes the organs from the mouth to the lower colon, are the focus of this specialty.

Gastroenterological Surgeons
This specialty branch of general surgery focuses on a variety of procedures performed on the organs and conduits of the digestive system. Gastroenterologic surgery is performed for diseases ranging from gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and gastric ulcers to cancers of the stomach, colon, liver and pancreas, as well as ulcerative conditions like ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.

Techs
4 of the 6 GI tech have the GI Tech/Associates certification and/or the advanced associates program certification from the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates. from SGNA. In addition, one of these has also completed the "advanced associates program."

Nurses Specializing in Gastroenterology
A nurse will provide much of your care throughout your stay with us. Your nurse will assure orders given by your physician and/or surgeon are completed, including delivery of medications and monitoring your vital signs.  Several of the nurses are “Certified Gastroenterology Nurses," a designation awarded by the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates.  An RN must have 4000 hours of experience in Endoscopy before they qualify.

Our hospital’s registered dietitians work closely with your care team to provide nutritional planning and education for the healthy dietary changes your digestive disorder may require.
