BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR Initial and Recertification

For professional rescuers who need to renew certification in Healthcare Provider CPR. Must be able to present a current card documenting previous completion of a Healthcare Provider CPR course. Brief review, skills testing and written test on the following:
CPR techniques for the adult, child and infant,
recognition and emergency resuscitation techniques for heart attack, stroke and choking in adults, prevention of injuries and cardiac arrest,
recognition and treatment of choking in infants and children,
use of barrier devices,
use of the bag-valve mask,
foreign-body airway obstruction (for both conscious and unconscious victims),
automated external defibrillation,
special resuscitation situations, and
other cardiopulmonary emergencies.
The fee for community members is $50. Call the Center for Good Health to register, 394-3344, M-Thurs 8 AM to 5 PM, Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
Students should arrive a few minutes early to sign in. It is recommended to review the BLS for Healthcare Providers manual prior to class. Community members may purchase or borrow a book from the Center for Good Health office. Holland Hospital employees may check out a book at the 3W Medical Library.
