The pleasant facility environment, professional care and compassionate staff ensure a comfortable and reassuring patient experience. If radiation therapy is part of your cancer treatment plan, it is good to know LAROC is conveniently located right in Holland at the corner of Riley Street and US-31.
Radiation therapy can relieve pain by reducing pressure from a tumor, slow or stop tumor growth and cure certain cancers. Each treatment is painless and lasts only a few minutes. A patient's course of treatment may last from 2 to 7 weeks. Radiation may be used alone or in combination with surgery and/or chemotherapy. Treatment may include various radiation therapies such as:
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
- Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
- 4D Respiratory Gated Treatment
- Onboard Imaging (OB)
LAROC’s advanced technology includes the Varian iX Linear Accelerator which features specialized software to organize patient information and images into a single cancer-specific medical record. This helps coordinate physician consultation, simulation, planning and treatment for improved efficiency and treatment effectiveness.
Members of the LAROC care team include:
- Radiation Oncologist
- Medical Physicist
