November 28, 2006, started out like a typical day for Brad Horton. Forty-eight and in good health, the events that day would catch him totally unprepared. Fortunately for him, Holland Hospital was ready.
When Brad arrived at the ER, an immediate evaluation and CT scan of his brain revealed that he’d suffered a stroke. The stroke team elected to use the latest FDA-approved clot-buster, t-PA, which must be administered within three hours to be effective. That night, Brad regained consciousness in the Intensive Care Unit. Three days later, he was discharged, and within a week he was back at work.
