Patient Community
While we celebrate healthy births at Boven every day, we also have the rare—and very sad—occasion to grieve alongside parents after a miscarriage or the death of a newborn. Our bereavement services and support group assist families through a holistic grieving process.

For parents and families who who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or newborn death, Boven Birth Center provides on-going support groups to assist with the grieving process. Help is available as long as you need it.

RTS Bereavement Services (Resolve Through Sharing)
Implemented at Boven Birth Center in 1994, the RTS Bereavement Program was founded by Gundersen Lutheran Medial Center in Lacrosse, Wisconsin.The RTS Bereavement Program is designed for parents and families who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or newborn death. This program assists families through the grieving process.

Bereavement counselors recognize that perinatal loss is a unique, lifelong, parenting bereavement experience. The mission of RTS Bereavement Services is to actively develop a common standard of excellence that assures services are provided to bereaved families through an interdisciplinary and holistic approach.
