Anxiety is a sense of apprehension or fear often marked by physical symptoms such as sweating, headaches, increased heart rate, muscle tension and fatigue.  Anxiety becomes a disorder when it causes distress or begins to interfere with everyday functioning. Anxiety disorders include:
  • generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
  • obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • panic attacks
  • agoraphobia
  • separation anxiety
  • social phobias
  • specific phobias
