Anger Management

Learning to express and manage your anger appropriately can help build better relationships, achieve goals, and lead a healthier, more satisfying life.

The team at Holland Hospital Behavioral Health Services can help you develop strategies to approach problems in a controlled, effective manner. The process of learning to positively express anger can be divided into three parts:
  1. Recognizing your feelings. Almost all emotions are connected to some sort of physical reaction. Being aware of your physical reaction when you're angry can help you identify this emotion as it occurs.
  2. Owning your feelings. Another person may have said something or done something that punched your anger button, but the anger is yours and so are the choices of how to manage the anger.
  3. Responding appropriately to your feelings.
The team at Holland Hospital Behavioral Health Services can help you develop strategies to more constructively manage anger and strong emotions.
