Treatment for a More Comfortable Active Life
Holland Hospital offers both non-operative, minimally invasive and surgical solutions for back, neck and spine surgery.
There are many possible causes for low back pain, but in most cases it is unknown. Some causes of back pain may include:
- Muscle strains or ligament sprains
- Disc degeneration
- Spinal deformities
- Health conditions
EMG (Electromyography) - a test to help diagnose problems with extremity pain, numbness, and muscle weakness.
Nerve Conduction Studies - used to asses nerve function and diagnose peripheral neuropathy, a pinched nerve and other conditions
- Trigger Point Injections - help treat pain and poor range of motion due to trigger points (painful areas that radiate to other parts of the body)
- Joint/Bursa Injections - effective treatments to reduce pain and inflammation due to arthritis, injury, or other conditions
- Spinal Injections - may be necessary to help treat certain types of neck or back problems and relieve pain
When spine surgery is the best solution, our neurosurgeons perform a full range of surgical procedures from minimally invasive laminectomy for a ruptured disc, to surgical decompressions for spinal stenosis, to major decompression and fusion. Our new Spine & Orthopedics unit offers private rooms and a dedicated
inpatient rehabilitation area. State-of-the-art technology including
special beds, wider doorways, private showers with special safety
features, and curved corridors and soft lighting for safety and comfort.
