One of the best traits of human nature is for people to want to help others in their time of need. Holland Hospital welcomes your gifts of time, talent and financial support. We offer a number of opportunities to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
The gift of money
Cash: A gift of cash, in the form of a check, is the most popular way people contribute to Holland Hospital’s community outreach efforts. A cash gift is deductible on your tax return in the year the gift is made.
Memorials: We provide appropriate notice and recognition as well as acknowledgement to the donor for donations given in honor, or in memory, of someone.
Community Outreach: 100% of all gifts go toward providing health care services for people in our community who might not otherwise have access. For more information about giving to Holland Hospital, please contact our Fund Development Department at (616) 355-3975 or give@hollandhospital.org.
Lights of Love
Each year the Holland Hospital Auxiliary Lights of Love campaign is a meaningful way to honor a special person or group, or to give in remembrance of a loved one. Each donation is represented by a light on our magnificent Lights of Love Tree, on display in Holland Hospital from November 28 to January 4, 2013.
All donations are used to fund a special project and this year's funds will go to the Emergency Department for the purchase of a LUCAS Chest Compression System which will help emergency personnel save heart attack victims by providing steady, measured chest compressions reducing the variability of manual compressions. Each donation, no matter the size, is very much appreciated. This link will take you to Paypal where you can make your donation. After you submit the amount you will be able to enter the honoree's name and information. All honorees and donors who contribute $100 or more will be honored in a late January Holland Sentinel.
The gift of time
Volunteers play a valuable role in creating a positive, patient-focused culture at Holland Hospital. Our committed volunteers come from all over the Lakeshore area and make an important difference in the lives of patients and families by giving comfort and assistance. Their contribution to hospital staff is immeasurable.
More than 500 volunteers donate more than 59,000 hours of service in 45 different areas. Jobs they perform include delivering meals, mail and flowers to patients, transporting patients to services or discharge, making home meal deliveries, working in and managing the Coffee Cove or Gift Shop and assisting in the medical or consumer library.
Their generosity of spirit lightens the day for everyone they come in contact with, patients and staff alike.
The Volunteer Auxiliary also raises and distributes over $50,000 in the form of scholarships for deserving community students.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call Volunteer Resources at (616) 394-3372, search our currently needed volunteer positions or read more about our volunteers.
