Holland Hospital opened its doors to the first patient in 1917 - in the former home of a local doctor. Today, thanks to the vision and hard work of community members and medical professionals, we have grown to become the leading provider of health care services in the West Michigan Lakeshore area.

The hospital has undergone numerous expansions to meet the needs of a growing population. In 2000, the Lakeshore Medical Campus was opened on Holland’s north side and is now home to Urgent Care and other services and physician practices.

In 2007, a 90,000-square-foot expansion to the hospital provided a new and expanded emergency room, ICU, Special Care Nursery, cardiac rehab facility, and other services.

In 2010, Holland Hospital opened a multi-use medical office building in Zeeland, Holland Hospital Medical Building, to serve people living or working east of the hospital. Services include Lakeshore Health Partners–Family Medicine, Walk-In Care, and in 2011, an array of services for women.

Recent physician collaborations have played a significant role in increasing health care options. In 2010, partnerships with over three dozen physicians led to the formation of Holland Hospital Medical Groups, including Lakeshore Health Partners, representing primary care and more than 12 medical specialties throughout the lakeshore area.
