Holland Hospital’s Wound Care management program is available by referral to help provide superior results and accelerated healing time for wound or ostomy patients. When wounds do not show healing progress within two weeks, intervention may be needed. The Wound Care management program treats all types of wounds including trauma wounds, pressure ulcers and venous ulcers.
Holland Hospital’s Wound Care management program is available by referral to help provide superior results and accelerated healing time for wound or ostomy patients.

On your first visit you will be seen by the Wound Care Coordinator who will assess your wound and work with you to develop an effective treatment plan designed to meet your specific needs.  Please bring a list of your medications and past medical history with you to your first appointment.  Depending on the type and severity of the wound, you will visit the clinic one to three times per week for assessments and dressing changes.

Common wounds treated:

  • Neuropathic wounds
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Surgical wounds
  • Trauma/injury wounds
  • Venous ulcers

There is also the option to care for your wound from home.  In this case, the Wound Care Coordinator will train a friend or family member to change your dressings.  This allows patients to visit the Wound Care program only once a week for assessments. On average, patients come to the Wound Care Program to get their dressings changed from 1–3 times per week and have their wound assessed by the Wound Care Coordinator once a week.
The Home Health Services Wound Care Program uses advanced computer software to track treatment and enhance results.  Digital photos of patient wounds are sent electronically from the home to our certified Wound Care Coordinator to evaluate for efficient treatment and healing.

Severe wounds can be painful and affect all aspects of life when not properly treated.  We work to heal those wounds for good; using the most advanced methods and technologies.  Through our staff's extensive experience in wound care we are able to address your individual needs within your wound care program.

The nurses at the Wound Care Program provide specialized care in coordination with your physician. Because of this, you must have a referral from your physician to be admitted to the Wound Care Program.  Talk to your doctor about scheduling your first appointment.  The Wound Care Program also provides education and care for ostomies and stomas.
Wound care services are available for those who are home bound and unable to reach the clinic.
