Urgent Care or Hospital?
If you think your condition is potentially life-threatening, call 911 immediately as paramedics are equipped to begin treating you en route to the hospital emergency room. Urgent Care is recommended for a patient needing treatment for:
  • Fever
  • Colds, cough or flu
  • Bruises, abrasions and minor cuts
  • Minor burns
  • Sprains or strains
  • Ear, eye or skin infections
  • Water or sports injury evaluations
  • Animal bites
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Respiratory infections
  • Suspected bone fractures
Urgent care or walk-in care is the right choice when you would normally see your primary care physician but cannot wait for an appointment
Urgent care or walk-in care is the right choice when you would normally see your primary care physician but cannot wait for an appointment.  It is “after hours” care when you need evaluation or treatment and your normal physician is not open.  Urgent care is also for situations that require immediate medical attention but are not life-threatening. The big difference between an urgent-care facility and a regular doctor’s office is that you can walk in without an appointment. The advantage when immediate care is needed is easy access, short wait times, early morning, after work and weekend hours.

"When my family and I drove 28 miles to the Urgent Care in the middle of a snow storm I was expecting to be rushed through the Urgent Care by staff who was in a rush to leave work. Instead I received the complete opposite from you."
Holland Hospital’s Urgent Care facilities are especially convenient when you cannot see your regular doctor because you are a visitor in town or if your local doctor is away from the office and you cannot make a quick appointment.
