Holland Hospital's Athletic Trainers are certified health care professionals who specialize in injury and illness prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for all physically active people.

The Athletic Trainers also work at area high schools during the school year to provide injury prevention and conditioning, evaluation of injuries, treatment and rehab for injured athletes. Often they are present during practices and at home sports events to respond to acute injuries and medical emergencies.

The athletic training staff, as part of Holland Hospital Rehabilitation Services maintain ongoing communication with area physicians. Standardized forms have been developed for each of the participating high schools to allow for better communication with physicians and parents.
Scope of Services
  • Prevention with proper mechanics to help athletes develop techniques to prevent future injury
  • Clinical Evaluation of new and old injuries to determine appropriate plan of action
  • Immediate Care including brace and equipment fitting
  • Treatment, Rehabilitation & Reconditioning: exercises designed and implemented to return athletes to full functioning status
  • Assistance in identifying area physicians accepting referrals
  • Coordination with Holland Hospital Rehabilitation facilities
