Holland Hospital is proud to be one of a select number of hospitals in Michigan offering the very latest in surgical technology, the da Vinci® Si Surgical System. da Vinci is the most technologically advanced, robotic assisted, surgical system available. The da Vinci tools are able to operate in smaller incisions and tighter places with better vision than usually possible for an unassisted surgeon. This enables specially trained surgeons to perform complex surgeries through tiny one to two centimeter incisions or in some cases through the navel (belly button). The result is often less pain and quicker recovery times than with traditional procedures. Our state-of-the-art da Vinci robot allows surgeons to make the precise micro-movements essential for the most delicate types of surgery, such as prostatectomy (surgical removal of the prostate gland) and hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus).
