At Holland Hospital, we are committed to providing you and your family with superior service. Whether you're visiting us as a patient or a visitor, your comfort, care and safety is important to us. Holland Hospital staff looks forward to working with patients and their families to provide a safe, restful and healthy environment for their stay.

Visiting Guidelines
Patients and their families are the center of the care team at Holland Hospital. The presence, input and participation of loved ones is encouraged as much as possible. Visiting hours are flexible to achieve a balance between the patient’s need for visitors and rest. They may also vary depending on a patient’s condition, and daily care activities such as meals, bathing or scheduled medical procedures.

For optimal times to visit, please consult with the patient directly or his or her immediate family. Or contact the Nursing Station by calling the hospital switchboard at (616) 392-5141 and asking for the Nursing Station for the unit/floor the patient is on.

Other considerations:

  • If the patient is in a semi-private room, consideration should be given to other patients in the room when determining visitation.
  • Children are welcome to visit, but please remember that hospital rooms are not childproof. Therefore, children must be supervised by an adult visitor at all times.

For patients on 6 West—Behavioral Health Services
Patients on 6-West are involved in classes and therapy during the day, so visiting hours are scheduled in the evening when there is free time. Hours are posted on the unit and given to family members at admission. Please check with a member of the immediate family or call the Nursing Station at (616) 394-3350 for specific times.

Interpreters Services

The Patient Registration Department provides interpretation services at no cost 24 hours a day for patients and family members who speak limited or no English. Spanish interpreters trained to understand medical concerns are available on-site at all times; interpreters representing more than a dozen other languages are available as needed. To arrange for interpreting services, please call ext. 3341 from inside the hospital or  (616) 394-3341.

CaringBridge offers free, personalized websites that allow people to stay in touch with family and friends during a health crisis, treatment and recovery.  The goal of the service is to ease the burden of keeping friends and family updated, while also providing a way for them to send their love, support and encouragement.
