Holland Hospital recognizes that the healing of mind, body and spirit are all-important and often interrelated. Our Healing Environment programs seek to bring the healing power of the arts and nature to our patients, and to your family and friends.
Featuring lush foliage, a flowing waterfall and natural surroundings to soothe and nurture patients and visitors. The 1,000-square-foot Healing Garden is located next to the Chapel just off the north lobby (near the visitors' elevators). Please visit at any time; open 24 hours a day.
We call them our “four-legged doctors.” These well-behaved dogs make regular visits to patients who agree to see them. All dogs and their handlers are licensed through Therapy Dogs, Inc.
Music to Heal By
Volunteer Musician: Live performances occur often throughout the hospital.
Ambient Music: Enjoy music in the upper level lobby, in hallways, in the Café and in the Chapel of Hope Music Lending Library: Music is available to you for use in your room.
C.A.R.E. (Channel 78)
Hospital Televisions provide beautiful nature imagery and soft instrumental music and are sensitive to day and night cycles.
Art supplies are available for patients to participate in creative art; volunteers make rounds on the hospital floors to deliver supplies. To see an amazing exhibit by local "Friends of Art" artists, visit the lower level just inside the visitors' entrance; the show changes monthly. And not to be missed, on display throughout the hospital is our permanent art collection, also featuring many local artists.
