How Does The Hospitalist Service Work?
When you are admitted to Holland Hospital, we will inform your primary care physician’s office and obtain necessary information and records. The Hospitalist will contact your primary care physician as needed during your hospital stay. When you are discharged from the hospital, a copy of your discharge report is sent to your primary care physician. We will also tell you when a follow-up appointment is needed with your doctor. |

What to Expect
Hospitalists generally specialize in internal medicine, family medicine or pediatrics and their participation in your care or your child’s care begins with your consent and a referral from your primary care physician. Hospitalists examine patients daily, order tests and check results. They can consult with specialists and then coordinate into a plan of care. Your relationship ends with the hospitalist when you’re discharged. |
