Treatments
The Holland Hospital Bone Health Program applies the most recent medical breakthroughs and recommendations to help you attain the strongest bones possible. Comprehensive treatment, including medication and exercise, can prevent fragility fractures in most patients.
Osteoporosis and fragility fractures have been identified as major public health problems by the US Surgeon General. Approximately 80% of patients do not currently receive appropriate follow up care.
Own the Bone is a national program that seeks to reduce incidence of future fractures and impact of osteoporosis. The
Own the Bone program is guided by nationally-recognized bone health experts in orthopedic surgery, endocrinology, rheumatology, women's and family health as well as gerontology. Holland Hospital's participation in
Own the Bone is part of our commitment to the health and care of our community. The program provides a simple, easy-to-use tool to enable us to identify, evaluate and treat fragility fractures and coordinate patient care. Read more about
