Per your preference, we offer varying degrees of pain management. A natural childbirth approach can be learned through our selection of classes which teach breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and methods of focusing to alleviate pain and relief can be given utilizing pain medication.
We offer a range of non-medicinal comfort measures to help you relax during labor and delivery including water therapy and a birthing ball.
Pain medications may be given by injection or through an IV. These do not necessarily make pain go away but can help you to relax.
An epidural (or labor epidural) is the most common form of pain management in labor. It refers to the placement of a small tube (or catheter) into the space around the spine. Local anesthetics injected into this catheter produce numbness in the area of the nerves that area associated with labor pain.
