Most back pain will get better and go away by itself. Four out of five people experience back pain at some point in their lives. While it is usually a good idea to continue your regular activities, avoid heaving lifting or any activities that make the back feel worse.

Treatments for a back problem or injury may include physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medicine, and, in some cases, surgery. Treatment will depend on the type and severity of the condition.

  • Apply ice to the back
  • Take on anti-inflammatory medicine (such as ibuprofen)
  • Take it easy for a few days
